Outgrowing People

BY CHINA BECKETT

For the young adults who are struggling with outgrowing family members, I’m here to tell you it’s okay! Sometimes you and your family, whether it’s parents, siblings, or any other family member, will not always see eye to eye. You will not always be on speaking terms and that is okay. Under no circumstance is it ok to be disrespected by anyone young or old. There should always be mutual respect and understanding on how to best communicate without physical or verbal escalation. If the respect is not being reciprocated then it is okay to remove yourself and move forward in healthy growth without that family member until there is a change and you get the respect you gave.
